August 23, 2010 ~we have been back in the house
for a few months and this past weekend we had a huge rain/lightning storm and it
was scary to say the least. There is not a spillway in the back that we
are working on but, when you are having to constantly w2ork
to see where the water is going and what it is doing.. very nerve racking.
January 31, 2010~ Rebuilding is taking its
toll. Lost of work to be done and again figuring out what the hell I have
lost in all of this. I look at images and wonder if that item got saved or
not.. but to look might take days! Or did it get thrown out? Looking for
new furniture and everything else.. rebuilding not only the house but, I guess
the spirit as this was a huge blow to getting things done. Colors are picked,
carpet is next, grateful to those who have again come to the call. I know those
are true friends. And to those who well let's just say are not.. they know what
I think.
September 21, 2009 ~ About 5 ish
am, the water began coming into the house. Five feet came in and about 3-4
stayed for a time. It went over the fence in the back yard and also
started a fire in the garage - I was in there when it all happened and it
has been a huge loss. Losing not only the material possessions but knowing how
you can lose soo much soo fast. I am grateful for the progress that has
been made and the help that I have gotten. The friends who have come out of the
woodwork with this.
There are a lot of memories with this house. Not just with the
material things that were inside but, the movie nights.. parties, and just
getting ready for the night on the town or lounging around with nothing to do. I
am very lucky that the fire only did minor damage and that the flooding was not
as high as it could have gotten. |
